Ships being sunk is the kind of thing that happens in war, but I guess it's been a long time since a country with submarines fought a country with an actual navy, because I can't remember hearing about it, and news outlets are saying it's the first time a ship's been torpedoed since World War II. That's discomfiting but not nearly as much as Pete Hegseth's evident glee in being able to "fight" in a "war", by which I mean "get a hard-on" after watching someone else incompetently and illegally order an attack resulting in the deaths of hundreds of people, including schoolchildren. I am by nature a violent person, but I've seen too much violence myself, so I've spent my life trying very hard to be a peaceful person. And yet I find myself thinking that nothing would be better than someone taking a bat to the kind of people who enjoy hearing about the deaths of others.
